Project Assumption
As libraries digitize, they lose the hardcopy becoming a digital cloud, raining information wherever needed by whomever. As the cloud grows, the shadow grows with it, hiding all physical archives in darkness. The analog and digital are a pronounced duality, because one cannot exist without the other.
Project Statement
Analog: the foundation that adapts to the new age. Digital: the exponential rise in technology. Duality: the balance of oppositions, moving as one form. Expanding paths: creating an interactive middle space serving those who are imbedded into the digital age and those dispossessed. Upon entering, the visitor is visually given two choices of circulation, going up or down below street level. Following the grade down into the auditorium, a space where analog and digital are balanced, light punctures through the ceiling as the digital cloud rains upon its users.
