Structures are dependent upon each other and their connection. One cannot deliver without first obtaining, cannot use without obtaining and cannot obtain without receiving delivery. The links between the three structures are primary staircases. The secondary connection is exhibition, which obtains, uses and delivers. Taking in information from a source is obtaining knowledge that is delivered while using previous knowledge to comprehend. This is represented through glassed in walkways continuously flowing through all three structures. Modeled after a natural system, the walkways are surrounded by a clear membrane of glass to embrace natural surroundings, "The Real Source of all Knowledge".

The world begins with nature, nature of the human body; which is the real source of all knowledge. As society and technology advance, human function will always exist in its same state and purpose. Inspired by the natural functions of the human body, the Athenaeum of 2050 consists of three main functional spaces connected into a system. Separately the spaces cannot survive, like arteries that collapse when they are not filled or connected by the vein. These three spaces are categorized by obtain, use and deliver which correlates to the progression of knowledge and experience through a library and museum.
