Project Assumption
This project seeks to redefine the concept of library, renewing any related idea and adapt it to the future using technological advances such as the use of graphene, flexible, lightweight and durable material that will conform the majority of the structure. It’s proposed the digitalization of current and future information for more accessibility just as the exposure of existing physical information in the form of museum, in order to preserve it.
All this leads to the creation of a fully digital, intelligent and self-sustainable building that will renew the experience of being inside or outside the Athenæum.

Project Statement
This project is conducted under the convocation of the members of the Athenæum of Philadelphia. The aim is to redesign the current Athenæum, projected to 50 years in the future. We begin with the analysis of the convocation, the natural and artificial context; and user identification, which led to the choice of the concept, which arises from the ideas of: freedom, unity and working together. The result: "neuron".
From Concept physical and functional features are extracted by applying and adapting them to the design intentions that meet user needs and requirements in the convocation.
