Athenaeum 2050

In 2050, like many other developed cities, Philadelphia will be privileged with many technological advancements with the purpose of facilitating our routines. During this era, Architecture will play an important role in society while implementing technology in design; Ultimately with the purpose of creating an exciting, comfortable, and enjoyable experience in relation to large cities to the most intimate spaces.

The Athenaeum of Philadelphia will serve a center of knowledge and will set new Architectural standards from the future and for the future.

My interpretation of the project derives within the concept of BALANCE.

To find ideal balance between all things that matter through the design process.

I strongly believe that, where there is controversy, problems, and debate there is also great opportunity for design and innovation. Whether the challenge promotes, conservation vs innovation, materiality vs use of style, public vs private spaces, building content (Athenaeum) vs design AND SO ON...the design should promote a sense of STRONG BALANCE BETWEEN ALL.
