Project Assumption
Libraries of the future will become the frontrunners for testing out technological advances. People will forever be drawn to libraries as meeting places and for their unique collections of knowledge and their ease in which collaboration is attained.
Digitally stored copies of prints and files will be pulled up onto large scale touch screens throughout the building’s pods in order for maximum collaboration and easy access to historical and future inspiration.
The Athenaeum will expand to include rentable work spaces and small lecture rooms. This building will become the new “hub” for architects and architectural enthusiasts within the Philadelphia metro area.

Project Statement
Envisioning an Architectural Library of the future: a place for architects at all stages in their careers to interact, and a place for community members to explore art and architecture.
At the ground level, passerby’s experience studio collaboration through rentable community design spaces that include “lecture and collaboration” pods. The museum is located along the first floor to intrigue and draw pedestrians inside. The path continues upward as an architecture student would transcend through his/her career. This path, including an exterior garden at city level, will culminate with the top floors, representing the knowledge and complexity of which Architecture is composed.
